"Disney Plus the Middle East": The Emirates is a leading environment for the media and creativity industry

Dubai, May 26 / WAM / Tamim Fares, Director General of the Disney Plus platform in the Middle East and North Africa, praised the pioneering role that the UAE plays in supporting creativity and providing the infrastructure necessary for the growth of the bio media sector, considering that the UAE has always been a fertile and incubating environment for the media and entertainment sector.

He added in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of the first day of the “Arab Media Summit 2025”, which is held in Dubai from 26 to 28 May, that “Disney” adopts a strategic expansion plan in the UAE market that includes various sectors, from digital platforms to television channels, through recreational retail, up to specialized entertainment cities.

He pointed out that the size of the development witnessed by the media sector in the Emirates has become remarkable, and “Disney” is proud of being part of this prosperous scene that reflects the growth of the company’s investments and plans in the Emirates, stressing that participation in the Arab Media Summit is a valuable opportunity to see these transformations closely.

He pointed out that “Disney Plus” is linked to a number of important partnerships within the country, which contributes to enhancing its spread and expanding the base of its users, indicating that among these partnerships is cooperation with “Du” and “Abu Dhabi Media”, in addition to partnerships in content with dependent channels such as “National Geographic”, which has a wide audience in the region.

Fares also pointed to the exceptional project that was announced recently in the Emirati capital, which is to establish the city of “Disney Land Abu Dhabi”, which was developed by “Miral”, stressing that this project is a milestone in the “Disney” march in the region, and it represents a conclusive evidence of the confidence that the company attaches to the Emirates as a major destination.

The general manager of the “Disney Plus Middle East” platform said that what has been achieved so far is just a beginning, and that the future carries many promising opportunities, stressing that “Disney” looks at the Emirates not only as a country that is developing quickly, but as an ambitious country that moves effectively towards achieving its visions, the presence of Disney Plus, shops, media partnerships, and the upcoming Disneyland city, all indications of real commitment to this market.
