Developing media cadres and investing in them is more important than buying headquarters and tools

His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Jumaa Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Media Corporation, confirmed that he started the field of media work with television directing and then moved to the press, indicating that when he was a student at the school, the teachers encouraged him to deliver a morning speech, which inspired him to continue in the field of media.

His Highness said in a dialogue session within the activities of the Arab Media Summit 2025, hosted by Dubai, that after the establishment of Al -Bayan newspaper in Dubai based on the directives of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may God rest his soul, he was working with a daily effort between television and the newspaper; Rather, they held meetings to compare what was published in the newspapers daily and which are better.

His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum added: “The media and newspapers have become threatened with social media, because some of the means and newspapers did not keep pace with the development that took place in the world, and therefore it is obligatory on television, radio and newspapers stations that must be developed from their capabilities in line with the requirements of the current era.”

His Highness stressed the importance of benefiting more than the pioneers of the media, pointing out that their celebration is necessary and important, but the most important thing is to benefit from their great experiences in the field, especially since they possess what education or universities cannot offer, which are live experiences in media work.

The head of the Dubai Media Corporation stressed the need for the media to be specialized and intellectually, so that the intellectual is a sporting specialist in sports media, and the same is for the economy, art and other fields, pointing out that “the most difficult thing in media management is how to choose the right person in the appropriate place or program.”

His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum called for the necessity that there be guiding programs that address young people and society in all its sects, so that it provides useful content to spread awareness of society.

At the end of the session, His Highness stressed the importance of upgrading media work by developing media cadres and people more than attention to buying headquarters and tools.
