Long -term unemployment rates at the lowest level in the European Union

Brussels on May 27 / WAM / long -term unemployment reached its lowest level ever throughout the European Union.
According to the latest Eurostat data, the European Statistical Office, the long -term unemployment rate in the European Union is now 1.9%, which is the lowest level since the start of the data collection.
The Netherlands (0.5%), Malta (0.7%), Czech, Denmark and Poland (0.8%for each) recorded.
The highest percentage was monitored in Greece (5.4%), followed by Spain (3.8%) and Slovenia (3.5%).
The total unemployment rate also decreased, to its lowest level ever in less than 5.9 %, a 0.2 % decrease from 2023.
The data draws a mixed image, unemployment rates decrease in all age groups except for the younger generation, and between the 15-24 age group, the percentage reached 14.9%, an increase of 0.4% compared to 2023.
