Applying pre -booking service for vehicle examination dates to all centers in the emirate

The Roads and Communications Authority has activated the application of pre -booking service for vehicle examination dates through its smart application (RTA Dubai) Or through its website (www.rta.ae), To be mandatory in all technical examination centers in the emirate starting from June 2, 2025, and that in the case of the selection of customers directly and without prior reservation, an optional service is provided to customers in 19 centers in exchange for an additional fee of only 100 dirhams.

The technical examination service is available through prior seizure of appointments in 8 other centers with the lack of optional service in these eight places. The eight places are: (Al -Arabi Centre Walt Al -Hamr, Al -Aadd and Al -Wayyah Al -Hamr, Al -Hamr, Al -Mazzar Al -Mazhar, and recording of the Tawar and Al -Makhli).

The authority expanded this service after the concrete success in saving the time and effort achieved by the experimental phase of the initiative, which was launched in October last year in the two registration centers (Al -Qassis) and (Al -Barsha) only.

The authority aims to expand the mandatory scope of the application of the service in vehicle examination centers to raise the level of this vital service, which benefits a large segment of the population and achieve happiness for customers from the vehicle owners and help them reduce the waiting periods of the technical examination of vehicles.

The results achieved from the experimental stage of the initiative, which lasted 6 months, showed a noticeable decrease in the rate of waiting time for dealers for technical examination transactions in the centers (Al -Qasis and Al -Barasha), which amounted to about 46%, and also a decrease in the occupancy rate for actual technical examination transactions, compared to the total capacity available by about 15%.

“The outputs of the experimental phase of the service have proven a clear improvement and a positive qualitative shift in terms of reducing congestion significantly and effectively within the centers, especially in peak times, which was one of the biggest challenges in technical examination centers.”

Al -Farsi added: “There are several benefits for the implementation of the initiative to the majority of the technical examination centers, the most prominent of which are: saving time and effort on dealers and reducing the waiting time in the examination centers by about 40%, and he expected an improvement in occupancy rates, especially in the centers that exceeded the occupancy rate of 80%.”

Al -Farsi added, “The authority did the pre -reservation system at the technical examination centers in a mandatory manner on all categories of customers and vehicles, with the exception of vehicles of people of determination and the elderly, from citizens and residents registered in the Emirate of Dubai only, they are not required to reserve an appointment for any of the services of vehicle examination, in the context of the authority’s keenness to facilitate the provision of services for these two categories of vehicles and without prior reservation To check their vehicles. “
