Improving methods of reporting the results of “genetic examination before marriage” and supporting positive cases

During its seventh session held by the Emirates Health Services Corporation, the Consultative Council for Patient Representatives and their families discussed the mechanisms of developing pre -marriage checks, especially the “genetic test” that was included in the mandatory tests for those who are about to marry since the beginning of the year, including improving methods of reporting positive results, and providing the necessary support for those who are coming to marry to make studied health decisions in cooperation with a specialist Genetics, taking into account the privacy of the individual and serves the interest of society.
The Council recommended to prepare a comprehensive plan within the early awareness efforts in cooperation with the concerned authorities to introduce the importance of the genetic examination of those coming to marriage, and to create an effective mechanism to support positive cases, enabling them to make healthy, informed decisions.
In detail, the Emirates Health Services Corporation, as part of its commitment to enhancing community participation and empowering patients and their families to contribute to the effective contribution to improving the health care system, held the seventh session of the Consultative Council for patients and their families, in the “House of Philosophy” in the Emirate of Fujairah, where it discussed ways to improve the quality of health services and enhance the efficiency of customers ’experience, in a way that supports the institution’s directions towards a more integrated health system Sustainability, establishes a culture of community partnership, and enhances the compatibility of health services with the “UAE” targets 2031.
The Chairman of the Consultative Council for patients and their families at the Foundation, Dr. Aisha Muhammad Suhail, stressed that strengthening the patient’s voice as a major component in the decision -making process constitutes one of the pillars of the strategic transformation in the health care sector, where the Foundation seeks to build an integrated model that goes beyond providing the service to empowering the customer, and interacting with it as a partner in developing health policies and upgrading the quality of life.
The council’s work started with a tour of the “House of Philosophy”, during which the attendees met with the goals and facilities of the center, followed by a field visit to the faction center to enhance family health, where they participated in evaluating the customer’s journey within the service of “reassurance” for early detection of non -communicable diseases, which is an advanced preventive model that contributes to reducing the rates of diseases that can be treated in its early stages through the proactive detection Preventive intervention.
