Sharjah hosts "Global Investment Conference" Next October
Sharjah, May 31 / WAM / The Sharjah Foreign Investment Office is organizing “Invest in Sharjah” in cooperation with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies “Wip” and the Ministry of Investment, the 29th session of the “Global Investment Conference” in the Emirate of Sharjah for the first time, during the period from 22 to 24 October at the Sharjah Expo Center in a qualitative step that reflects the UAE’s advanced position on the global investment map.
This was announced after the signing of the hosting agreement that included the three parties in the presence of Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shorouk), His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment, Dr. James Zan, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Global Investment Conference, along with His Excellency Mohamed Abdel Rahman Al -Hwi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment, His Excellency Mohamed Juma Al -Shakhib, Executive Director of the Sharjah Foreign Investment Office “Invest in Sharjah” and Ismail Irshheen, Director and CEO of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies “Wip”.
Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi said that the choice of Sharjah to host the twenty -ninth session of the Global Investment Conference reflects international confidence in the emirate’s position as a leading destination for responsible and sustainable investments and emphasizes its readiness to receive global dialogues concerned with directing capital towards concrete development goals.
She added, “We believe in Sharjah that the future of investment requires a balance between economic growth and social development, and from here we are keen that the international platforms that we host are an opportunity to build partnerships that contribute to transferring knowledge, adopting innovation and achieving an actual impact whose impact extends to societies and markets alike.”
His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Al -Suwaidi, Minister of Investment, said that the World Investment Conference reflects the UAE’s commitment to support the global investment agenda and with the “Wiba” celebration of the 30th anniversary of its establishment.
His Excellency Mohamed Jumaa Al -Mashrakh stressed that the meeting of global investment institutions on the land of Sharjah reflects the emirate’s position as an advanced regional center in attracting qualitative and sustainable investments and contributes to opening more diverse paths for local and regional business societies and enhances its ability to reach wider networks of cross -border partnerships.
Ismail Irshain said that the conference is a platform for purposeful cooperation between the public and private sectors, where investors are linked to available opportunities and reflects the hosting of Sharjah for the World Investment Conference 2025 its growing leadership in the global investment dialogue and its commitment to forming the next era of responsible and flexible investment.
Dr. James Zan said that the conference is held at the appropriate time and in the optimal location and in partnership with the actors, praising the Emirate of Sharjah as a unique and strategic investment destination to attract foreign direct investment, pointing out that the UAE as a regional pioneer in this field continues to consolidate its position among the 15 best investment destinations in the world.
