Fears of money laundering .. Czech criminal donated a bitcoin of $ 45 million

A Czech Ministry of Justice spokesman announced that one of the convicted criminals donated 468 Bitcoin to the Ministry.

The spokesman said that the cryptocurrency that was sold at an auction, which has achieved revenues of about 40 million euros (45.4 million dollars), is scheduled to be used for charitable purposes, such as helping crime victims and equipping prisons.

This deal caused concern, as the Denick newspaper reported that the police opened an investigation on suspicion that the amount was collected by laundering.

According to the newspaper’s report, the donor was previously convicted of running an illegal platform on the dark network for the sale of drugs and medicines, and spent a 4 -year prison sentence.

Czech Minister of Justice Pavel Plask rejected criticism, saying: “Why is it not allowed to be allowed to provide something to the state, as a kind of atonement, for example?”

Plask said he did not know the donor personally, but he knows his lawyer, as hundreds of other lawyers know him. He stressed that he does not see any moral dilemma in the deal.
