Ukraine and Russia are preparing for a new exchange of war prisoners

Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski announced on Monday that Russia and Ukraine are preparing for a new exchange of war prisoners after talks in Istanbul between two delegations from the two countries.

Zelinski said during a summit in Lithuania that the two delegations “exchange documents across the Turkish side, and we are preparing for a new exchange of war prisoners.”

For his part, the head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Andrei Yermak, said that the Ukrainian negotiators handed over Russian officials to a list of children “who were illegally deported” by Moscow and demanded their return.

“Today during the Istanbul talks, the Ukrainian side has officially handed over the Russian side the list of Ukrainian children to be returned,” Yermak said, “We are talking about hundreds of children whom Russia has left illegally, or transferred them or detained them in temporarily occupied lands.”
