The Qatari Prime Minister reviewed by phone the South African Minister of International Relations the military escalation in the region

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewed, during a phone call today, with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Ronald Lamola, the developments of the military escalation in the region and its dangerous repercussions on regional and international security and stability, and ways to resolve all disputes by peaceful means.

The Qatar News Agency reported that the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the call, condemned the Iranian attacks on Qatari territory and that they cannot be accepted under any justification or pretext, indicating in this context that the State of Qatar has always been keen to distance itself from regional conflicts, and has sought to facilitate dialogue between the Iranian side and the international community.

He warned against the consequences of irresponsibly targeting vital infrastructure, especially those related to water, food, and energy facilities, stressing that they represent dangerous precedents that will expose the peoples of the region to multiple dangers. He also stressed the need to immediately stop any escalatory actions, return to the dialogue table, give priority to the language of reason and wisdom, and work to contain the crisis in a way that preserves the security of the region.

For his part, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa called for a reduction in escalation, a voice of reason, and a return to negotiations and diplomatic means to avoid further chaos.
