Energy Department – Abu Dhabi is completing a project to rehabilitate gas systems in buildings

Abu Dhabi, June 4/ WAM/ The Energy Department in Abu Dhabi has completed a 100% rehabilitation project in buildings in buildings and has completed more than 200,000 safe working hours in the implementation of the program that started in August 2023, as part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of gas systems in the emirate.
Dr. Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi, Acting Director General of Organizational Affairs in the Energy Department, confirmed that ensuring the safety of the Abu Dhabi residents, its properties and its economy is a top priority for the Energy Department.

Al -Qubaisi said that safety is a collective effort and a shared responsibility that falls on all workers in this sector, and the Malak of the buildings plays an important role in preserving the safety and safety of society.
The Abu Dhabi Energy Department revealed the results of the implementation of the project to rehabilitate the gas systems after it succeeded in rehabilitating more than 2,400 buildings, including more than 200 high -risk -ranked buildings and treated urgently, while 550 gas leaks were discovered and repaired and was previously discovered and transported all gas filling lines outside the buildings with an achievement rate of 100%.

The project included replacing more than 450 gas tanks and a control panel, in addition to installing more than 10,000 detectors leaking gas inside the kitchens.

Eng. Ahmed Al -Shaibani, Executive Director of the Organizational Affairs Sector for Petroleum Madetweds in the Energy Department – Abu Dhabi said: “Abu Dhabi continues its leadership in the field of safety of the use of gas systems, as it is a vital resource that touches various aspects of daily life, and plays a pivotal role alongside renewable and clean energy sources in supporting the stability of the energy sector and urging the residents of Abu Dhabi to be vigilant when dealing with gas; He added that everyone can continue to build a safe and safer society.

Al -Shaibani thanked the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, the Municipal and Transport Department, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, and the emergency, crisis and disaster management center of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which all contributed to the implementation of this campaign effectively.

The regulatory regulations of gas work in buildings are required to sign an annual maintenance contract with an approved gas operator from the Energy Department – Abu Dhabi, in addition to undergoing periodic inspections and maintenance of independent and accredited inspectors from the department.

Building owners must also obtain a certificate of non -reluctance from the Energy Department – Abu Dhabi confirming the safety of the gas system in their buildings, and this certificate has become a prerequisite for completing the procedures for obtaining a certificate of completing preventive safety requirements from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority.
