The International Labor Organization gives Palestine the status of “a non -member observer state”

Today, the International Labor Organization agreed to grant Palestine the status of a “non -member observer state” in the organization that is entitled to participate in the international work conference courses and regional meetings of the organization with a triple delegation representing the government, employers and workers, in addition to allowing it to interfere in public discussions and technical committees without the right to vote or submit proposals.
This came during a plenary session of the International Labor Conference held in Geneva in its 113rd session, where a large majority was voted on the draft resolution titled “The Place of Palestine in the International Labor Organization and the rights of its participation in the organization’s meetings” and was approved by the Public Affairs Committee earlier.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on May 10, 2024, who called on the United Nations specialized agencies, including the International Labor Organization, to adopt additional arrangements that allow Palestine to expand the rights of participation in official agencies.
