"Dubai Electricity" It adds 800 megawatts of clean energy operational capacity since the beginning of the year

Dubai, June 9 / WAM / His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, announced that the total production capacity of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex has increased to 3,860 megawatts with two solar panels and concentrated solar energy, as the Authority added 800 megawatts since the beginning of the current year of the sixth stage projects, to form clean energy About 21.5% of the total energy production capacity in the authority.
His Excellency Al -Tayer said that we are inspired by our strategies and work plans from the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, to accelerate the pace of the shift towards a sustainable green economy and enhance Dubai’s position as a leading global center in clean and renewable energy.
He added that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex is the most important projects of the authority to achieve this vision and achieve the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, and the carbon neutrality strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai, which aims to provide 100% of the production capacity of the energy in Dubai from clean sources by 2050, and by 2030, the productive capacity of the complex will reach 7,260 megawatts, to constitute the clean energy 34% of the energy mix In the authority, this will reduce the total carbon dioxide emissions by about 8 million tons annually.
The first stage of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Complex was operated with a capacity of 13 megawatts with solar photovoltaic technology in October 2013, and in March 2017, the second stage was launched with a capacity of 200 megawatts with solar photovoltaic technology, and it is the first solar energy project in the region according to the independent energy product system.
In November 2020, the third phase of the complex was launched with a capacity of 800 megawatts with solar photovoltaic technology. This stage is the first project of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region that uses the mono -axle solar tracking system to increase energy productivity.
In December 2023, the fourth stage of the complex was launched with a capacity of 950 megawatts with concentrated solar and solar solar energy techniques, and the fourth stage uses three common technologies, which is the counter -cut system with a total capacity of 600 megawatts, and a 100 -megawatt solar tower in addition to a 250 -megawatled solar panels.
In June 2023, the fifth stage of the complex, with a capacity of 900 megawatts, was inaugurated by the PV technology.

The Authority is currently working to complete the projects of the sixth stage of the complex with a capacity of 1,800 megawatts with solar PV technology.
The Authority invited the global developers to participate in the implementation of the seventh stage of the complex with a capacity of 1,600 megawatts “with the possibility of increasing it to 2,000 megawatts” with solar panel technology with the photovoltaic technology with a system for storing energy with batteries with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts for a period The largest projects in the world that combine solar energy and batteries storage.
