Large and concrete Gulf efforts in protecting the marine environment

Jassim Mohamed Al -Badawi, Secretary -General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, stressed that the countries of the Cooperation Council are making great and continuous efforts in protecting the seas and oceans, especially the Arab Gulf, which resulted in tangiblely to promote the protection of the marine environment and address the environmental challenges facing this vital region.

He said, during his participation yesterday in the work of the announcement of the recommendations of the “High Ocean and Coastal Flexibility” summit on the sidelines of the third United Nations Conference on Oceanic and Atmosphere (UNOC3) By organizing the governments of the French Republic and Costa Rica, in the French city of Nice, in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron, and the participation of a number of leaders and senior officials and specialists in the countries of the world, the GCC countries pay great attention to climate and sustainable development issues and solutions, especially the recommendations that come out by representatives of local governments, experts and specialists from different countries of the world, and benefit from their experiences and experiences in this field.

He stressed the importance of regional and international joint work to confront climate change, and the need to transform climate obligations into concrete practical steps that ensure the sustainability of the planet, especially the most vulnerable areas such as coasts and marine societies, in a way that contributes to adapting to future environmental challenges, protecting coastal societies and ensuring their well -being.

He explained that the participation of the Cooperation Council in these specialized conferences confirms its commitment to environmental and climatic issues, by enhancing regional and international cooperation, and adopting ambitious strategies to adapt to climate change, especially in coastal areas that represent a vital economic and social depth in the region, in line with the visions of sustainable development adopted by the GCC countries.

On the sidelines of the third United Nations Conference on Oceanic and Air Country, which was launched today in the French “Nice”, the Secretary -General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf met with the Secretary -General of the American State of States, the Berta Rardman, where cooperation relations between the two sides were reviewed, and ways of enhancing joint coordination in issues of mutual interest, enhancing economic and investment cooperation, contributing to strengthening relations, and achieving common goals and interests.

The Secretary -General also reviewed many investment relations of the countries of the Council with a number of countries and organizations, stressing the keenness of the countries of the Cooperation Council to expand areas of cooperation in the important and vital fields, and to open and enhance economic and investment partnerships with various countries of the world and regional and international blocs.
