Abdullah bin Zayed meets the US Secretary of State and discuss strategic relations and regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Marco Rubio, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United States of America, as part of a working visit by His Highness to the American capital, Washington.

Rubio welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his accompanying delegation, and the two sides discussed, during the meeting held at the headquarters of the US State Department, strategic relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them to serve their mutual interests.

The two ministers reviewed the paths of bilateral cooperation in various developmental sectors, especially economic, commercial, scientific, advanced technology and artificial intelligence.

They also touched on the visit of the country by Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, to the UAE last May, and the important results that it resulted in the depth of relations between the two countries, and the joint keenness to advance the prospects for bilateral cooperation and partnership in all fields.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the firm strategic relations between the two countries, stressing that the United States of America is an important strategic ally for the UAE.

He also expressed the UAE’s aspiration for joint work to enhance this distinguished relationship, in order to achieve more progress and prosperity for the two countries, and contribute to achieving prosperity and sustainable development of their people.

During the meeting, His Highness and Marco Rubio discussed the overall regional developments.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s keenness to work with the United States and all regional and international partners, in order to support peace and stability in the region and the world, and to consolidate the values ​​of coexistence and human brotherhood in societies.

The meeting was attended by Youssef Manea Al -Otaiba, the country’s ambassador to the United States, Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Saeed Mubarak Al -Hajri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and Commercial Affairs, and Dr. Maha Tayseer Barakat, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Medical Affairs and Life Sciences.
