The UAE is participating in the dialogue of energy transmission in Brussels

Brussels, on June 12 / WAM / The UAE participated yesterday in the round ministerial table as part of a high -level energy transmission dialogue, which was held by the Presidency of the Conference of the Parties “COP30” in partnership with the International Energy Agency “IEA”, at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels, in the presence of a number of ministers and senior officials from different countries of the world.
The state delegation participating in the meeting was chaired by His Excellency Eng. Sharif Al -Ulama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, and participation comes within the global efforts to prepare for the Thirty Conference of the Parties “COP30” to be held in the city of Bilim in Brazil, where the dialogue constituted a platform for exchange of visions on accelerating the implementation of the results of “COP28” and “COP29” conference Energy efficiency and renewable energy three times by 2030.
During his intervention, His Excellency Eng. Sharif Al -Ulama reviewed the most prominent achievements of the UAE in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy, highlighting the pioneering initiatives launched by the state, such as the “Global Energy Efficiency Alliance”, led by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in cooperation with international partners.
His Excellency said that the UAE continues to consolidate its position as a global model in the transformation of the energy sector, through ambitious national strategies that include the “Emirates Energy Strategy 2050”, and qualitative projects such as “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex” and “Barakah Plant Nuclear Energy Station”, as well as huge investments in clean hydrogen and smart networks, and this trend contributed to diversifying the energy mix and increasing accreditation On clean sources, to enhance energy security and support the goals of climate neutrality.
He stressed the state’s commitment to playing a pioneering role in accelerating the global energy transformation and enhancing international cooperation by building bridges of partnership between governments and the private sector, noting that the UAE puts energy efficiency at the heart of its climate and economic policies, and is working to enable countries to achieve their climatic goals in a fair and comprehensive way through the global alliance of energy efficiency.
His Excellency added that the UAE believes that achieving the transformation in the global energy sector requires strengthening the bonds of international cooperation and the integration of efforts between various countries and institutions, and from this standpoint, the state was keen to build strategic partnerships with global organizations.
He stressed that the UAE, through its active participation on the international scene, will continue to support the global climate agenda and work to convert obligations into concrete results that benefit future generations.
