India: The Secretary -General exposes a deep grief over the killing of more than two hundred people in a passenger plane crash

The Secretary -General – in a statement attributed to his spokesman – offered his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people and the government of India, as well as to all the countries whose citizens were affected by this tragedy. He wished a speedy and complete recovery for the injured.
In turn, the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Feltimon Yang, expressed his sympathy for all the victims and those affected by the disaster. He added in a post on social media: “I hope they will find strength and sympathy during this ordeal.”
News reports stated that the Indian Airlines plane was heading to London with 242 people on board, and was crashed moments after taking off from Ahmedabad on Thursday, killing more than 200 people on board, while dozens are still missing.
The plane crashed into a residence for students of BG Medical College, which is about one mile from the city’s main airport, killing five students and wounding about 50 others who were transferred to the hospital.
