Two ships collision off the coast of the Emirates as a result of a miscalculation of the navigational path

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced that the preliminary information about the accidental collision that occurred yesterday, between two ships in the Sea of Oman, 24 nautical miles from the coast of the UAE indicating that the accident was caused by a miscalculation in the navigation track from one of the two ships.
The ministry said in a statement that the competent authorities received at one thirty in the morning on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, a report on the collision between the two ships, one of which is a tanker called “Adalynn” and raises the flag of the state of Antigua and Barouda, and the other is a cargo ship called “Front Eagle” bearing the flag of the Republic of Liberia.
She added that the accident resulted in limited superficial damage to the external structure of the two ships, a simple oil leakage, and a fire in the fuel tank in one of the two ships, where the competent authorities dealt with and extinguished it, while no injuries were monitored between the members of the two groups.
The Ministry confirmed that the technical investigation is underway in coordination with the relevant international bodies, in the context of transparency and according to the highest international naval standards.
The Ministry praised the response of the rescue teams and its high efficiency in dealing with the situation, as a safe evacuation process was carried out for the 24 -person oil tanker “Adalyn” crew, and transferred them to Khorfakkan Port in peace through the search and rescue boats of the Coast Guard at the National Guard and the competent maritime authorities.
The Ministry affirmed its continued monitoring and evaluation of the situation to ensure the safety of navigation and protect the marine environment, praising institutional integration and constant readiness to deal with emergency cases efficiently and professionally.
