France intends to launch an initiative to settle the conflict between Israel and Iran

French President Emmanuel Macron asked his Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrow to launch an initiative in the coming days in cooperation with European partners close to proposing a negotiating settlement to end the conflict between Israel and Iran.

In a statement, the French presidency quoted Macron during his interview during a meeting of the National Defense and National Security Council in the Elysee of his concern about the existing escalation, in light of the Israeli strikes on more goals that are not related to the Iranian nuclear program and the Iranian balls, and the increasing number of civilian casualties in Iran and Israel.

Macron stressed the necessity of putting a rapid limit to these military operations, according to the French presidency, but he did not specify the nature of the initiative that his Foreign Minister, who attended the defense council meeting alongside Prime Minister Francois Bayro and the French armies minister Sebastian Lucurno.

Macron asked the French Foreign Ministry to take the necessary measures to facilitate the departure of French nationals in Iran and Israel.
