Minister of Energy and Infrastructure: "National Maritime Navigation" It enhances the leadership of the Emirates in the marine sector

Abu Dhabi, June 20 / WAM / His Excellency Suhail bin Muhammad Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, confirmed that the decision of the Council of Ministers to create the “National Maritime Navigation Center” comes as an embodiment of the strategic vision of the UAE in developing an integrated naval system that supports national aspirations towards sustainability and innovation, and establishes the state’s position as a leading global marine force.
His Excellency said in a statement on this occasion, that the National Maritime Navigation Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, constitutes a qualitative addition to the march of development of marine infrastructure in the country, where he will manage and operate the integrated national system to monitor the movement of ships, in addition to operating the unified marine national window, which aims to unify procedures and raise the efficiency of marine operations.
He stressed that the center represents an advanced platform for joint cooperation between the authorities concerned with the maritime sector, which enhances efforts to monitor and protect the sector and improve its strategic position in supporting the national economy.
His Excellency expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the authorities concerned with the maritime sector in the country, for the support, cooperation and sincere efforts that contributed to the establishment of this center, stressing that this achievement reflects the spirit of integration and joint action that distinguishes the government work system in the UAE.
He said that the National Maritime Navigation Center represents a qualitative shift in enabling the UAE to enhance the safety and security of its maritime sector, and to prevent harmful practices in the environment, through adopting smart technology, supporting studies and scientific research that contribute to building effective policies and making an enlightened decision, indicating that the establishment of the center will contribute to enhancing coordination between the relevant maritime authorities, and unifying national policies and legislation, in a manner that guarantees compliance For global standards, it raises the efficiency of maritime operation and reduces organizational complications, with a focus on enabling national competencies through specialized training and research programs.
His Excellency stressed that this decision reflects the faith of our rational leadership that excellence in the vital sectors comes only through systematic institutional work that looks forward to the future, and turns challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation, noting that the center will constitute a national lever to improve the quality of marine services and achieve integration between marine development and environmental sustainability.
For his part, His Excellency Eng. Hassan Mohamed Jumaa Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs, said that the center will contribute to the development of marine policies in line with international best practices, and to activate smart control and advanced planning systems, which enhances the UAE’s ability to lead the future of maritime navigation.
He added that the UAE has a leading marine infrastructure and a strategic geographical location that places it at the center of the global trade movement, and that this center will contribute to strengthening the role of the state in supporting supply chains, facilitating international trade movement, and enabling a new generation of national qualifications eligible to lead the maritime sector towards more sustainable prospects.
