Ibn Touq reviews the UAE experience in diversifying the national economy and enhancing its competitiveness during the St. Petersburg Forum

Abu Dhabi on June 22 / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, during his participation in the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum “Spief 2025”, which was held over a period of four days under the slogan “Common Values: The basis of growth in a multi -polar world”, reviewed the UAE experience in diversifying the national economy and enhancing its competitiveness.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq, on the sidelines of participation in the forum that concluded yesterday, held bilateral meetings with His Excellency Dmitry Patroshev, Deputy Prime Minister in the Russian Federation; His Excellency Anton Alejhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, with the aim of discussing the development of economic relations between the two countries in sectors of mutual interest.

His Excellency said that these meetings with the ministers and officials in Russia represented a step to discuss economic relations between the two countries and the business community.

He stressed the importance of benefiting from the unique strategic location enjoyed by the UAE as a global center for business and investment, noting that these meetings witnessed highlighting the support of joint cooperation paths in advanced economic fields, especially the new economy, tourism, entrepreneurship, industry, agriculture, food security, transportation, technology, renewable energy and infrastructure.

His Excellency Ben Touq added that the UAE’s participation in the forum came within the framework of its keenness to enhance its presence in the regional and global arena and build fruitful economic partnerships with prominent markets, in order to support its vision in economic openness to the world and consolidate its position as an international and influential economic partner in light of the targets of vision (we Emirates 2031) .. indicating that the forum represents an important platform to enhance the benefit of Emirati companies from the opportunities of partnership Cooperation in the new economy sectors with a broad base of decision makers, investors and businessmen from the participating countries.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq reviewed during his participation in a session entitled “A new view of productivity: adaptation and growth in a changing world”, within the work of the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum, the UAE’s experience in diversifying the national economy, which succeeded in achieving exceptional growth results in various fields that outperformed the expectations of international institutions, especially since the percentage of the contribution of non -oil sectors to the gross domestic product reached 75.5% by the end of last year, as he achieved Non -oil GDP growing by 5% during the year 2024.

His Excellency highlighted the developments of national economic policies that enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the business environment in the country’s markets, which today hosts more than 1.1 million companies and economic institutions, as well as the state’s vision of turning into a global center for the new economy by the next decade.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri witnessed; Andrei Furropiov, the governor of Moscow Province, signs a memorandum of understanding between the areas of Khalifa Economic Abu Dhabi – Kizad Group and ZSK GLASSPROMLC (Ecookna), specialized in the manufacture of glass and transparent windows in Russia, which aims to create a glass factory in Abu Dhabi.
