Al-Azhar condemns the continued unjustified Iranian attacks on the Gulf states and a number of Arab and Islamic countries
Cairo, March 18 / WAM / Al-Azhar Al-Sharif strongly condemned the continued unjustified Iranian attacks on its Arab Gulf neighbors. Represented in the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of Arab countries and neighboring countries represented in Jordan, Iraq, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.
In a statement issued today, Al-Azhar called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to: Considering that it is a Muslim country and neighbor, by taking an immediate decision dictated by Islam and imposed by its Sharia, to stop attacks on these sister Arab and Islamic countries without restrictions or conditions, and to respect their sovereignty over their land, and not to harm it from near or far; To protect the lives of innocent people who have no fault in these conflicts, and who have no camel or camel in them.
He stressed that targeting residential areas, airports, hospitals and energy facilities in countries that were not party to any conflict is a grave violation of international humanitarian law, and a clear departure from what Islam has required of preserving lives and property and preserving human dignity. With the truth, and with the cry of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to Muslims: “Every Muslim is sacred to another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honor.” All of this obligates the Islamic Republic of Iran to stop its military attacks on the Gulf states and neighbors, and stop any additional escalation that increases the conflict. It also requires working to end this crisis. We have the right to the blood of civilians, and to preserve their security and stability, out of respect for the principles of Islamic Sharia, the provisions of international law, and the sovereignty of states.
Al-Azhar welcomed the sincere efforts of the wise Egyptian leadership to stop all military operations in all countries of the region, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities in stopping the war, giving priority to the voice of wisdom and dialogue, and preventing the expansion of the conflict. In order to preserve the security and stability of the region and protect the lives of innocent civilians.
Al-Azhar expressed its sincere condolences and solidarity with the families of the martyrs and victims in sisterly countries, calling on God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery, asking God Almighty to protect our countries from all harm, to spare the region from the scourge of wars and conflicts, to repel the plots of lurking enemies, and to perpetuate the blessing of security and peace upon our peoples. And stability.
