“Dubai Roads” is looking to adopt “quantum” techniques to enhance the future of smart mobility and digital security

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is looking to adopt the applications of “quantum” technologies, which relate to three fields, quantum communication, quantum computing and quantum cybersecurity, in the transportation, transportation and smart infrastructure sectors, which aim to enhance the efficiency of smart systems, support the future of smart transport and cybersecurity, improve the level of data security, sustainability, orientation towards innovation, adopting the latest global innovations, and foresight of the future.
The Roads and Communications Authority organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Quantum communication and its applications in smart infrastructure in cooperation with the world’s leading” CICO “company in the field of network technologies and information security, and with the participation of specialized lecturers in the field of quantitative communication technologies and a number of employees of the authority from various technical and technical departments and from external parties.
The workshop focused on the basic concepts of quantitative communication, reviewing the most prominent research trends and applications related to this modern technology and discussing major axes, including the goal of quantitative communication, provided in quantum mechanics, quantum computing, networks and quantitative security, the most prominent research in quantitative communication.
The workshop outputs emphasized the importance of quantitative communication as a promising future solution in the field of communications, and that this technology provides unprecedented levels of safety and speed in data transfer, which contributes to facilitating the progress of operations and integrating systems within vital institutions.
Through this initiative, the authority is one of the forerunner government agencies in the region to explore the “quantum” applications in the field of transport, as it is one of the latest developments, which can have a fundamental impact on various fields by employing innovative services that depend on the principles of quantum physics, as one of the most complex and accurate branches of physics to distinguish them with supernatural abilities in the areas of security, analysis and treatment.
The authority stated that its initiative to adopt quantum technologies and the possibility of their application in the transportation sector is in line with the directions of the Dubai government through the foresight of the future and the adoption of safe and effective digital solutions to keep pace with developments worldwide and achieve a precedent in implementing the latest technologies in the field of infrastructure management and transportation systems.
The authority continues to achieve its vision and mission by making Dubai the best smart city in road and transportation systems and enhance Dubai’s position in the world, noting that a team from the authority, in coordination with strategic partners and research institutions specialized in the field of quantitative communication, quantum computing and quantum cybersecurity, undertakes the study of the application of quantum technologies in many different sectors and tasks, and with the aim of enabling the authority to build a safer, flexible and sustainable digital infrastructure The global rapid technical variables.
Among the most important areas of quantum technologies, which the authority studies its application in its institutions and sectors, “quantum communication”, which is a new system to transfer data using light particles (photons), as it guarantees the confidentiality of information and reveals any suspicious attempt or breakthroughs, and can be applied in many areas of the authority.
In addition to the targeted quantum techniques, its study of the application in the authority, “quantity computing”, by enhancing the use of a new generation of computers that possesses the superior ability to process data and analysis of complex “scenarios” very quickly, among its applications: analysis of transportation and traffic data, prediction of traffic congestion, guidance of self -driving vehicles, improving track planning, and mass transportation.
Quantum technologies also include “quantum cybersecurity”, as it uses algorithms resistant to breakthroughs. Systems are fortified against future cyber threats, and they are able to protect operational digital platforms and secure smart infrastructure and internal networks and prevent future attacks and breakthroughs.
