The Syrian authorities arrest the official in charge of the “death barrier” in Lattakia

The Internal Security Command in the Syrian governorate of Latakia arrested the brigade in the army of the former regime, Mowaffair Nazir Haider, the commander of the third division armored vehicles and responsible for the Qatifa checkpoint, which was known as the “death barrier”.

“After accurate monitoring, with a security court security operation, the Internal Security Command in Lattakia Governorate arrested the criminal brigade, Mowaffaq, Nazir Haider, the commander of the third division, armored vehicles in the army of Bashar al -Assad,” the Syrian Ministry of Interior said.

The Ministry of Interior’s statement added: “Major General Haider is responsible for the Qutaifa checkpoint, known to all Syrians, as the death barrier.”

The statement pointed to the third division, which was led by the arrested brigade, known as the “spearhead” in the incursions carried out by the militias of the defunct regime on many Syrian regions.

The statement continued: “Major General Haider was involved in committing war crimes and flagrant violations against civilians, and it was decided to transfer it to the Anti -Terrorism Department for investigation, in preparation for its presentation to the competent judiciary.”
