Amazon intends to invest 54.4 billion dollars in the United Kingdom

The giant Amazon company in the field of e -commerce intends to invest 40 billion pounds (54.4 billion dollars) in the United Kingdom, in a huge commitment to consider a strong signal from the British government facing economic difficulties.

Prime Minister Kiir Starmer, who met last week, the group’s CEO, Andy Jassi, believes that this three -year investment (and part of it was known originally) constitutes a “great victory” and “evidence of confidence” in the United Kingdom.

This commitment comes at an appropriate time for the government of the Labor Party, which is fighting to fulfill its promise to enhance growth, in light of its swing between American customs recognition, geopolitical tensions and internal criticism of their economic policies in light of the opposition forces considering tax increases and public investments unrealistic.

Last February, Jassi announced his ambition to invest more than $ 100 billion this year, mainly in cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

The billions of “Amazon” in the United Kingdom coincide with the government launched a 10 -year industrial strategy, aimed at making it “the best investment country”, according to Trade Minister Jonathan Reynolds.

The amount of £ 40 billion will be used to build four distribution centers in Hull, Northhampton (both of which are originally known), and East Midlands.

Part of the amount will be devoted to financing the rehabilitation of the historic “Bray” cinematic studios that were acquired in July 2024, to film the series.

The “Amazon” signed an agreement last December with the British company “Games Workshop”, which owns the rights of the “Warmer 40000” game to produce films and series inspired by this future imaginary world, and this project includes actor Henry Cavill who played “Superman” and “The Witcher”.

In February, the group also took over the creative initiative in the James Bond film series after reaching an agreement with historical film producers, the Brukley family, who will remain partners in ownership.

Amazon’s investment also includes part of the amount of eight billion pounds (which is planned for five years), which was announced last September to build and operate data centers, which is essential to artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
