Mohammed bin Zayed and the President of the European Council are discussing ways to enhance relations between the UAE and the European Union and regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, received a phone call from Antonio Costa, President of the European Union Council, during which they discussed various aspects of cooperation and joint work between the UAE and the European Union and its member state and ways to expand its horizons at all levels in a way that enhances common interests and returns with good and growth on both sides.

The communication also touched on the ongoing negotiations regarding the conclusion of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and the European Union and its importance in pushing relations towards further growth to serve the common development goals.

His Highness and the President of the European Council also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, foremost of which are developments in the Middle East region, stressing the importance of working on an urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, allowing sufficient humanitarian support to the residents of the sector and alleviating their suffering … in addition to intensifying international efforts to push towards a clear path of permanent and comprehensive peace that is based on a “two -state solution”.

The two sides also stressed the importance of strengthening diplomatic endeavors and dialogue in resolving crises in the region, as it is the way to maintain regional and international security and stability.
