conference "Folk heritage in the eyes of the other " It starts tomorrow in Sharjah

Sharjah, June 30 / WAM / under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, organizes the Sharjah Heritage Institute on 2 and 3 next July, the second heritage conference under the slogan “Folklore in the Children of the Other” at the Arab Heritage Center in the University City in Sharjah with the participation of a group of academics, experts and specialists from various Arab countries and a number of foreign countries.

The conference aims to shed light on the image of the Emirati and Arab folklore as seen by foreign researchers through a set of scientific papers and discussions that review examples of knowledge and cultural interaction between local heritage and global visions in the context of the institute’s endeavor to enhance civilized dialogue and exchange experiences in the areas of heritage preservation and transfer to generations.

The Sharjah Heritage Institute announced the selection of Dr. Saif Muhammad bin Abboud Al -Badawi, the personality of the conference for this year, in appreciation of his scientific contributions in the areas of history and cultural heritage and its prominent role in documenting the Emirati national memory and promoting cultural identity through academic studies and reference books.
