China launches a global alliance for the cities of the digital economy

Yesterday, the Chinese capital, Beijing, witnessed the launch of a global alliance of more than 40 cities, as part of efforts to enhance multilateral cooperation in the field of digital economy.

China’s announcement of the establishment of the “Global Alliance for Digital Economy Cities” with the participation of cities from Europe, North America, Asia – the Pacific Ocean, the Middle East and Latin America, during the 2025 World Digital Economy Conference, according to the Chinese “Xinhua” agency.

The coalition aims to give the institutional nature to multilateral cooperation, beyond bilateral projects, with a focus on major issues such as digital infrastructure, border data governance, artificial intelligence ethics, and smart city applications.
