The Jordanian and Turkish civil defense is participating in putting out the fires of the Syrian coast

On Sunday morning, the Jordanian civil defense teams began the actual participation in efforts to put out the fires of forests for days in Lattakia countryside in northwestern Syria, as part of an accelerating regional response to help the Syrian authorities in the face of raging fires.
The Syrian Civil Defense announced on its official Facebook page that specialized Jordanian teams had reached the areas of the Syrian coast to support local firefighters in confronting the forest fires. The publication pointed out that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan had expressed its prior readiness to participate, confirming its commitment to support the firefighting efforts despite the complex field conditions.
The Syrian firefighting teams face serious challenges in fire control operations, most notably the high temperatures and the intensity of the wind, in addition to the presence of unexploded warships, which increases the difficulty of intervention and exposes the life of the rescue teams to danger.
In a simultaneous development, Turkey sent two helicopters on Saturday and 11 extinguishing mechanisms to support efforts to put out fire in Lattakia countryside, according to what was announced by the Syrian Emergency Minister Raed Al -Saleh, indicating that the outbreak of sudden fires inside the Turkish territories itself led to the delay in the arrival of equipment for one day.
It is noteworthy that Türkiye has in turn struggled with a series of fires since last June 26, and Turkish Forestry Minister Ibrahim Daykli announced that firefighters managed to control 10 major fires in the west of the country.
