Controls of students’ transfer from the British approach to the American

The Ministry of Education in the UAE has determined a clear mechanism for the transfer of students from schools that apply the British curriculum to those that adopt the American curriculum, explaining that the procedures differ according to the school stage, as follows:

From the first row to the eighth grade
There is no need to equal certificates: The ministry is satisfied with an official transfer certificate issued by the British School, to be documented, and it is delivered directly to the American school to which the student will move.

Registration procedures: The future school shall enter data in the ministry system and complete the registration procedures, without the need for any additional documents from the guardian.

From the ninth grade and above
The certificate equation: It is required to obtain an official equation issued by the Department of Equation in the Ministry, to ensure the compatibility of the academic levels and calculate the academic hours accurately.

Equation steps:

Submit an electronic application via mail: equ.corr@moe.gov.ae.

Attach the original degrees (or approved version) for the last grade, the approved curriculum, and the required documents required.

After reviewing the standards, the administration issues the letter of the equation to the American School to complete the registration.

The objectives of the procedure
These controls aim to ensure the continuity of the student’s academic path without systematic gaps, and to unify the procedures for movement between private schools, as well as protect parents from any unexpected financial or academic obligations due to the lack of clarity in the conditions.

An invitation to parents
The Ministry called on parents who wish to transfer their children to the American curriculum to pre -view the requirements of the classroom and communicate with the school administration to prepare the necessary documents before the start of the academic year. She also confirmed that all inquiries related to equations can be directed to the aforementioned email, where a support team has been allocated for the quick answer and facilitating procedures.
