"Denata" Self -driving vehicles begin to run at Al Maktoum International Airport

Dubai, July 15 / WAM / Danata announced aviation and travel services, the start of a fleet of self-driving vehicles at Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International Airport.
Denata is now occupying six “EZTOW” self -driving electric tractors that were developed by “Trackasy” at Al Maktoum International Airport, used to transport luggage between passengers and aircraft buildings, and is drawing up to four luggage containers per trip, at a speed of up to 15 km per hour, on pre -defined paths.
With these vehicles will gradually be combined within the daily operations, the distribution of employees who were occupying hand tractors to more complex and added tasks, which contributes to accelerating luggage delivery and improving general efficiency, as well as their contribution to reducing human errors, which enhances safety levels in the airport arenas.
Denata began implementing this project, which costs 6 million dirhams “$ 1.6 million”, at the third level of self -leadership, which requires limited human supervision, and this level will be promoted to the fourth level of self -leadership, which is characterized by complete self -driving capabilities in controlled environments in early 2026.
This launch comes after more than a year of cooperation between Danata and “Tratesy” and Dubai Airports and the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the UAE, to develop a new organizational framework for the operation of self -vehicles in the airport square environment, which still lacks clear frameworks at the global level.
Danata will use this project to experience and develop various operating models for self -handling, with the aim of reaching the most appropriate model for the application on a wider scale, especially with the expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport, expected to become the largest airport in the world with a capacity of 260 million passengers and 12 million tons of shipping annually.
Jaafar Dawood, Vice -President of the Senior Airport Operations Department in the United Arab Emirates in Danata, said that automation can be a vital element to establish a more intelligent, safe and flexible infrastructure, especially with the growing demand for global travel and increased operational requirements.
For his part, Rich Renault, CEO of “Tratesy”, said that the approach to adopting self -driving ground support is more attention, and that partnership with Danata paves the way towards a safer and efficient future.
