Dubai Police made innovation a sustainable approach

The chief coach of the Ethiopian Federal Police University, Major Pitimrim Al -Yao Tulo, praised the efforts of the Dubai Police’s General Police to make the police innovation a sustainable approach through which its strategic goals are achieved in making Dubai the most secure and safe city in the world.

Major Tulo – who represented his country in the second edition of the specialized diploma for police innovation and international leaders (PIL) organized by Dubai Police, in cooperation with the Rochester Institute of Technology, and officers from 39 countries participated – that he returned to his homeland loaded with inspiring ideas and rich experiences, which he gained from a police environment characterized by modernity and accelerating development.

Major Toulo revealed that his joining the program was driven by his passion for discovering how the Emirate of Dubai succeeded in integrating the latest technology, within its leading security system, as he found in the diploma a unique opportunity to see a completely new security and technological concepts for him, such as the use of artificial intelligence, metaphors and blockchain technology in security work, describing this experience that it opened before him new horizons about the capabilities Technology in promoting the efficiency of police work.

He believes that Dubai Police represents an integrated model that combines leading leadership and technology, and intends to transfer what he learned to police institutions in his country, by submitting practical recommendations to the higher authorities, organizing meetings and workshops with police officials, and the Ethiopian Police Academy, stressing that he aspires to see these technologies actually applied in various police departments in Ethiopia, in a manner compatible with the needs of the local community.

The craftsmanship of the diploma in terms of content and activities, including social and sports activities, such as the UAE challenge for tactical teams.

He also praised the inspiring field visits through which the participating officers met with the distinguished Dubai Police initiatives, such as the positive spiritual council initiatives that Tulo described as “a pioneering approach to communication that contributes to building a more tolerant and harmonious society.”

He believes that the development of security work methods is not a luxury, but rather a necessity to enhance the community’s confidence in the police.

He added: “In a world where crime methods change quickly, the security services must keep pace with these developments, by adopting innovative solutions.” He stressed that innovation is the way to provide more responsive and effective services to society.

One of the aspects that left a special impact has a philosophy of “healthy balance and career well -being” pursued by the Dubai Police in the work environment, as it described it as “an advanced step that protects the police from fatigue, and helps them to perform effectively without affecting their psychological and physical health.”

He explained that he is planning to include this concept in his reports, with the aim of presenting it for discussion within the corridors of the Ethiopian police.
