The Gulf University won the Bahrain Digital Content Award

In a qualitative achievement that reflects the commitment of the Gulf University to achieve the goals of sustainable development, especially the fourth goal related to the quality of education, the university won the Bahrain Digital Content Award (BDCA) for the year 2025 for the category of learning and education, for its pioneering project, “Artificial Intelligence Assistant – Maryam”, during the ceremony held at the Gulf Hotel, under the auspices of Mr. Ali bin Saleh Al -Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, and in the presence of a group of national figures and experts In the areas of digital transformation and educational innovation.
This victory is the culmination of the university’s efforts in providing a stimulating educational environment, which depends on creativity and technological innovation, and seeks to enable students to educational tools that keep pace with the rapid changes in the digital world, in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which puts education and technology at the heart of comprehensive development.
The Bahrain Association of Technology Companies (BTECH), the organizing body of the award, confirmed that the “Maryam” project embodies a qualitative shift in providing academic content, by taking advantage of the technologies of the Treat AI Techniques to provide smart and interactive support to students, in a way that enhances the quality of their educational experience, and contributes to developing education outcomes in line with the requirements of the modern labor market.
This project reflects the university’s direction, led by its president, Professor Dr. Muhannad Al -Farras towards administration that looks for the future, and puts innovation at the heart of its educational strategy, with the support of a group of professors with various experiences in the fields of technology, management, engineering and scientific research, who contributed to the design and development of “Maryam” as a smart tool that supports students, and provides practical and flexible solutions.
The project aims to enhance the university student experience, by providing immediate services that respond to their academic and administrative inquiries, and provides a series of use that contributes to accelerating access to university information and services, in order to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of higher education.
In a statement, Professor Ali Mansour, head of the university’s digital transformation center, explained that “Maryam” represents an advanced step in building an integrated digital structure within the university, reflecting her vision in technological leadership, and preparing students to engage in the knowledge economy, by enhancing their digital skills and preparing them for the requirements of the future.
This estimate is enhancing the status of the Gulf University as a leading educational institution in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which contributes to building a sustainable and innovative educational system, in harmony with the national trends towards a knowledge -based economy, and the Kingdom’s position is established as a regional center for innovation in education.
