Trump imposes 250 dollars in American visitors

The administration of US President Donald Trump has approved new fees for those wishing to visit the United States worth $ 250, in addition to the usual visa costs for temporary travelers, under the name “visa integrity fees”.
According to CNN, these fees will be collected from all non -immigrant visitors to obtain a visa to enter the United States, including travelers for tourism or business purposes, students, and others.
Visitors belonging to the participating countries in the visa exemption program, such as Australia and many European countries, will be exempt from paying these fees.
Visitors perform these fees when they obtain a visa, but the fees can be recovered after the flight ends in case the traveler is committed to the visa terms.
According to US State Department data, the United States has issued nearly 11 million visas to non -immigrants during the fiscal year 2024.
“Integrity fees require coordination between agencies before their implementation,” said the Ministry of Internal Security.
For his part, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the fees were approved to support the administration’s priorities in enhancing the enforcement of immigration laws, deterring visa violations, and financing border security, noting that the details of these fees will be published on the visa page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The fees were set for the fiscal year 2025 at $ 250 or “any amount determined by the Minister of Internal Security through the regulations”, while the fees that will not be recovered, will be “deposited in the General Fund of the Treasury”, according to what was stated in the text of the law.
