Customs duties will not be less than 15% for everyone

US President Donald Trump announced that he would not reduce customs duties to less than 15% on his country’s imports from almost all countries of the world.
“We will impose direct customs duties ranging from 15% and 50%. We now have additional fees of 50% on some countries because they have not reached a disease agreement with us,” Trump said during the AI summit in Washington on Wednesday.
The US President’s statements indicate that the customs duties will start from 15% on almost all trading partners of the United States, according to the Bloomberg agency.
The agency stated that these statements are targeting even countries that have reached agreements on customs duties with Washington.
Trump said earlier this month that more than 150 countries would receive a letter that includes a tariff rate “perhaps 10 or 15%, and we have not decided yet.”
On Tuesday, an agreement with the United States to reduce customs duties from 25% to 15% is reached to remove the restrictions imposed on some American products, as well as offering the support of an investment fund in the United States worth $ 550 billion.
The White House also discussed the creation of a similar fund with South Korea, a country that also focuses on reaching 15% fees, including cars, according to people familiar with the matter.
