Under the leadership of the non -oil sector .. Gulf GDP jumps to 588 billion dollars at the end of 2024

Muscat on July 27 / WAM / The latest data issued by the statistical center of the Gulf Cooperation Council states revealed that the gross domestic product at the current prices of the GCC countries amounted to 587.8 billion US dollars, mainly driven by non -oil activities that constituted 77.9% of the total output, in an indicator that reflects the depth of economic diversity in the region.
This number represents a growth of 1.5 % compared to 579 billion US dollars in the value of the Gulf GDP during the same period in 2023, while the contribution of oil activities reached 22.1 % of the gross domestic product by the end of 2024.
The existing manufacturing industries topped by 12.5 %, followed by the activity of wholesale and retail trade by 9.9 %, then the construction sector by 8.3 %, and the General Administration and Defense contributed by 7.5 %, financial and insurance activities by 7 %, and real estate activities by 5.7 %, while the contribution of other non -oil activities reached 27 percent.
