Ajman Municipality applies the “Green Wave” system to the streets of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Ammar

The Department of Municipality and Planning -Ajman announced the implementation of the “Green Wave” system on the Sheikh Zayed streets in the Halaio and Sheikh Ammar region in the Emirate of Ajman, as part of its continuous efforts to improve the infrastructure and improve the smooth flow of traffic in the emirate, and in line with the directions of Ajman 2030 vision to build an integrated and sustainable transportation system.
In this regard, the Director of the Department of Employment and Maintenance in the Department of Roads and Infrastructure in the department, Engineer Khamis Salem Al Matroushi, stressed that the application of the system is a qualitative shift in achieving traffic flow, as it is characterized by reducing repeated stops at the signals, to reduce the time of the trip, in addition to supporting environmental sustainability by reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Al -Matroushi added that the department seeks to harness the technologies and smart systems aimed at enhancing the happiness of the population and road users, and ensures the easiest, fastest and safe access to the desired destinations.
He pointed out that the development comes within an integrated and comprehensive plan to develop and link all intersections of traffic lights with a smart system using the latest technologies in force globally.
It is worth noting that the system aims to connect and coincide with intelligent light signals, so that it allows the passage of vehicles through several intersections without stopping, when adhering to the specified speed, which contributes to reducing traffic congestion and ensuring the flow of movement around the clock.
