New York, July 29/ WAM/ His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al -Murr, Minister of State, head of the United Arab Emirates, participating in the high -level international conference of the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and implementing the two -state solution held at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, headed by a joint presidency by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the friendly Republic of France, and with high -level international participation.

The conference reviewed the results of 8 teams that have worked over the past months to prepare for this conference with the aim of reaching a consensus on procedures in political, legal, economic and humanitarian paths, to draw the path of the road towards implementing the two -state solution.

Over a period of three days, 125 countries have made data in the United Nations General Assembly hall, in which the participants highlighted the necessity of ending the Palestinian -Israeli conflict on the basis of a two -state solution.

His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al-Murr affirmed in a speech during the conference that our meeting today comes while the world is witnessing today an increasing momentum in the international consensus on the necessity of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution, and that recognition of the Palestinian state is growing day after day, and the declaration of the French President, Emmanuel Macron, comes his country’s determination to recognize the State of Palestine before the United Nations General Assembly next September, to give a greater motivation to go in. Fixed towards establishing permanent, fair and comprehensive peace, to put an end to a tragic separation from the history of the Middle East.

His Excellency also indicated that there is no doubt that the facts on the ground impose an explicit pause.

Al -Murar added: “Our efforts in this conference to draw a clear path to achieve a two -state solution should not overwhelm the highly clear priority today to work to stop the tragic humanitarian catastrophe taking place in the Gaza Strip, and the continued deterioration of the situation in the West Bank, and the Israeli settlers and extremists against the Palestinians in the West Bank, the humanitarian conditions in Gaza have reached an unprecedented critical stage that everyone had to confront this to stop this The catastrophe. And in the face of this situation, the UAE leads the international efforts to deliver life to the brotherly Palestinian people, and my country will continue to deliver relief support to the most important in need of it by land, air and sea, as it immediately started the air projection of aid in Gaza, in addition to the caravans of land and sea aid.

With the treatment of humanitarian conditions, His Excellency stressed that it is necessary to work on an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and prisoners, and the concerted international efforts to stop the war in Gaza, and pave the way for a sustainable solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution.

His Excellency confirmed that to achieve sustainable peace, we see:
First: The importance of pushing to create a political will that believes that the political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, on the basis of a two-state solution, is the only real option that leads to sustainable peace, through a serious negotiating process between the parties, and with regional and international care.
Second: To avoid the continuation of the conflict and the repetition of confrontations and violence, it is necessary to create a political horizon by adopting a clear and binding road map and cannot be retracted, for the path of establishing an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty, living in peace and security alongside the State of Israel, and that all parties concerned to save the road map.
Third: The path of establishing the Palestinian state must include a radical treatment of reform, governance and security issues, in order to ensure the empowerment of a legitimate and responsible Palestinian national authority that is able to limit weapons in its hands and secure security, stability and the rule of law, and is committed to combating extremism and terrorism.
Fourth: The political process to achieve a sustainable peace must include a regional and international dimension in which regional and international actors are involved in a solidarity effort that leads to combating extremism and terrorism in the region, ending the cycle of violence and confrontations, resolving crises, stability, building bridges of communication, achieving development and prosperity for all countries and peoples of the region, including the aspirations and hopes of the Palestinians and Israelis.

At the end of his speech, His Excellency explained that every day he passes without a solution that deepens wounds, and is far from peace. Today, the path is clear before us, especially with the steps and obligations expressed by the international community in the eight working groups emanating from this conference, which my country participated in a number of. And all what we need now is the audacity and political courage to move towards peace as the only strategic option. “
