The UAE provides the lifeblood to the health sector in the Gaza Strip
The UAE has succeeded through its humanitarian efforts and relief assistance to the Palestinian brothers within the “Al -Faris 3 operation”, in extending the life artery for the health sector inside the Gaza Strip and saving it from complete collapse and the final exit from service.
During its rapid intervention to meet the medical challenges resulting from the worsening situation in the Gaza Strip, the UAE demonstrated a highly ready and professional readiness that was evident by being on the ground, whether through the Emirati field hospital inside the sector or the floating hospital that it sent to the Egyptian city of Al -Arish, as well as by transferring difficult and critical cases to state hospitals to provide treatment and medical care, in addition to sending medical assistance and supplies of all kinds to enhance the abilities of the health sector within Gaza.
The integrated Emirati field hospital in the Gaza Strip has continued, since its inauguration in December 2023, to provide its therapeutic services to the people of the sector, through specialized and qualified cadres in various medical fields and branches, in addition to medical volunteers.
The number of cases that received treatment in the UAE field hospital until last April reached more than 51 thousand cases, including critical injuries and fine surgeries.
Through the hospital, the UAE launched a qualitative humanitarian initiative to install prostheses for the injured people who were amputated, with the aim of supporting their rehabilitation and enabling them to restore their normal lives.
The hospital capacity is 200 beds, and it includes rooms for surgeries qualified to perform different types of surgeries. For example, the hospital’s doctors’ team succeeded in eradicating a tumor weighing 5 kilograms of a sick belly who suffered for years of severe pain and highly dangerous health complications.
In February 2024, the UAE sent an integrated maintenance hospital to the coast of the Egyptian city of Al -Arish to provide the necessary medical support to the Palestinian brothers.
The floating hospital includes a medical and administrative team of various specialties, including anesthesia, general surgery, bones and emergency, in addition to auxiliary nurses and professions, and the hospital has succeeded until last April by dealing with about 10370 cases.
The hospital family capacity is 100 beds, and it includes operating rooms and intensive care, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy and medical warehouses.
In parallel to this, the UAE worked to transfer critical medical conditions to its lands for treatment and provide the required care for them, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, by hosting a thousand Palestinians from those with cancer from the Gaza Strip from different age groups, to receive treatments and all kinds of health care they need in Emirates hospitals .. He also directed His Highness to host a thousand Palestinian children as well Accompanied by their families from the Gaza Strip to provide all kinds of medical and health care they need in state hospitals until they recover and return.
On May 14th, the total number of patients and accompanying people who was transferred to the Emirates reached 2634, which embodies the state’s keenness to provide the necessary therapeutic care for the Palestinian brothers in its hospitals.
Medical and health supplies acquire a large percentage of the total humanitarian and relief assistance that the UAE continues to provide to the Palestinian brothers in Gaza since the start of the crisis.
The medical assistance provided by the UAE to the Palestinian brothers in Gaza includes various types of medications and medical equipment such as dialysis devices, the ultrasound “trastown”, pulmonary recovery devices, mobile chairs and artificial breathing masks, in addition to ambulances.
500 days after the launch of the “Al -Faris 3 operation”, the UAE provided more than 1,200 tons of medical materials and supplies in support of local hospitals in the Gaza Strip, and the health system was strengthened with 17 ambulances equipped with the latest equipment.
The UAE carried out a comprehensive polio vaccination campaign for more than 640,000 children, as part of preventive efforts to protect future generations from infectious diseases.
In the same context, Dubai Humanitarian, during the period from January 1 to April 24, 2025, sent three relief shipments to the Egyptian Al -Arish airport in support of the Palestinian brothers in Gaza, which was transferred on board about 256 metric tons of medical supplies of the World Health Organization.
In order to enhance public health and preventive diseases, the UAE contributes through qualitative projects and initiatives in providing drinking water in the Gaza Strip, and a set of projects to repair sewage networks in order to reduce pollution and prevent the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases.
