Abdullah bin Zayed welcomes the determination of a number of countries to recognize the State of Palestine

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed his welcoming the determination of Malta, Canada, Australia, Andra, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Portugal and San Marino to recognize the sisterly state of Palestine, stressing that these positions represent historical steps that reflect the growing international support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the establishment of its independent state Sovereignty.
His Highness stressed that the declaration of an increasing number of countries from their intention to take the step of recognition constitutes a positive boost towards strengthening international efforts aimed at achieving a fair and permanent peace, and contributes to activating the political path to resolve the Palestinian -Israeli conflict, in a way that supports security and stability in the region, and achieves the aspirations of their peoples in development and prosperity.
His Highness called on the international community to take similar steps and recognize the State of Palestine, based on its moral, humanitarian and legal responsibilities, in order to support access to a comprehensive and fair solution to the conflict, and enhance the chances of achieving sustainable peace in the region.
