Experts advise travelers to “technical readiness” before holidays

Specialists in the technical sector said that there are a number of important preparations that travelers must follow before holidays, in order to avoid their financial losses or high costs of their holidays.

They explained to «Emirates Today» that some travelers in summer holidays are incurred by financial losses, caused by the neglect of what they called “technical preparation” before traveling, including the use of applications that allow the price comparison between airline tickets and hotels before making reservations and during travel, and the use of applications that allow connection and Internet bouquets as an alternative to the option “Download” maps of the intended countries, and the applications that help in accessing the main destinations of means of transportation, restaurants and markets, and the use of mobile payment applications as a substitute for cash (cache).

In detail, the technology expert, Mohamed Al -Fiqi, told «Emirates Today»: “Many travelers may be subjected to great financial losses, as a result of neglecting the necessary (technical preparation) before traveling on external holidays, especially while traveling with a large number of family members.”

He added, “(technical preparation), before traveling, allows the ability to control spending operations, and provides various facilities during holidays.”

He continued: «Among the most prominent technical preparations: download applications that provide comparable comparisons for aviation tickets, whether before traveling or when using internal flights in the countries and destinations intended by the traveler, as well as the use of applications that provide price comparisons and evaluation of hotels, which helps in searching and choosing hotels at an affordable price.

Al -Fiqi stressed the importance of using common and reliable applications, and avoiding unknown applications or that are not positive assessments that show their work.

He continued: «Not to use the comparison applications for the prices of airline tickets and hotels before booking to travel, the traveler may be exposed on holidays to incur financial losses, as a result of his reservation at high prices for hotels and airline tickets that could have been obtained at low prices.

He also emphasized that “downloading the applications for transportation and taxis for the countries and destinations that are traveling to, avoiding travelers with a financial spending and loss as a result of the use of special transportation, or taxi vehicles at high prices in many countries.”

Al -Fiqi pointed out that «some travelers use international roaming packages at a large financial cost, while they can be replaced by applications that allow the use of virtual cards (ES) in many countries, at low prices for telecommunications and the Internet, and that there are multiple smart applications that can be compared to price before traveling.

Al -Fiqi also pointed to the issue of using criticism in the currency of the country intended, saying: “It is important to use the applications of payment on phones as a substitute for cash (cache) in many countries, especially if the traveler is ignorant of the form of cash money in those countries and their categories, and in order to avoid not reliable banknotes in some regions and markets, especially in the largely reliable sales outlets, which may cause financial losses, especially in countries and tourist destinations that may In which old currencies are spreading to trading, or coins that may be fake. ”

For her part, the technical expert, Jesse Kim, agreed that many travelers on holidays may incur financial losses that could have been avoided if they were technically prepared before traveling and during it, by taking advantage of the applications.

She said: “The use of, for example, translation applications in countries and destinations that are difficult to use, or in areas whose residents do not speak English, travelers may avoid paying higher fees in restaurants, markets or tourist areas.”

She added: “Also, some do not use the price applications of the price of airline tickets and hotels, so they are exposed to higher financial costs, especially in the case of many families.

Kim continued: «Preparing before traveling is very important, such as downloading the maps of countries to use them without the Internet, and using the guidance applications for important tourist areas and restaurants in the intended countries, which provide a better organization for trips that may not be appropriately exploited, with the inability to reach appropriate restaurants or important tourist areas.

Kim also stressed the importance of using virtual cards applications in the event that the prices of telecommunications cards in countries and destinations intended to visit are high, stressing that it is one of the important and alternative matters for the high cost of international roaming in communication and internet services.

She also stressed the necessity of backup copies of pictures of passengers, tourist visas, airline tickets, and reservations, through phones or cloud computing, with an additional “passwords” or “biometric privacy” on these applications, and the use of applications that provide the necessary data before traveling, to avoid procedures that may expose the traveler to financial fines, such as the use of electrical charger transformers for devices.

“It is important before traveling on holidays to conduct the necessary technical preparations, which provide money on the passenger, and do not expose him to any fraud in some destinations.”

It was agreed that one of the most prominent of these technical preparations is the use of reliable smart applications in reservations, and the benefit of payment applications via phones.
