Afghan returns – the risks of poverty, early marriage, harassment and exploitation

This came in a report issued by the Specific Placing Group in Humanitarian Action in Afghanistan – (a joint group between the United Nations Women and the International Care Organization)
According to the report, more than 2.43 million Afghan are not documented, including large numbers of women and girls who lack shelter, income and basic services. The data indicates that the revenues face increasing risks of poverty, early marriage, violence, and exploitation, in addition to severe restrictions on their rights and freedom to move, teach and work.
The report highlighted the urgent needs of these women, including providing safe shelter, ways to gain livelihood, and education for girls. He stated that families supported by women are facing great obstacles to reaching humanitarian aid, especially because of the restrictions imposed on movement and the lack of definition documents.
The group stressed the importance of empowering workers in the humanitarian field, especially on the border crossings, for their vital role in reaching women and girls. However, this role is threatened as a result of low international financing and the increasing field restrictions.
She called on the international community to move urgently to protect the rights of women and girls, and to provide long -term support to ensure their reintegration into their societies with dignity and safety.
