The Prime Minister discusses the amendments to the National Council for Human Rights

Today, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met at the government headquarters in the new city of El Alamein, Ambassador Dr. Mahmoud Karem, President of the Acting National Council for Human Rights; This is to discuss the council’s demands to make amendments to the Council’s law to coincide more with the principles of Paris ruling for national human rights institutions. & nbsp; The Prime Minister stressed that the proposed amendments are currently being discussed by the Prime Minister’s Advisors Authority; To finish the necessary legal formulations, and refer it to the House of Representatives as soon as possible; To discuss it according to the controls determined by the legislative authority. & Nbsp;

& nbsp; At the same time, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly affirmed his keenness that the National Council for Human Rights obtain all legal guarantees that enhance its independence according to what is stipulated in the Egyptian constitution, which reflects Egypt’s international position in its dealings with the international mechanisms and its protection of the rights of its citizens. Freedoms and the positive transformations that reflect a clear commitment from the state in the path of human rights reform in light of the political will and presidential directions aimed at upgrading human rights conditions at all levels, and the repercussions of this on the implementation of the national strategy for human rights and its integration with the sustainable development strategy Egypt Vision 2030.

and in this regard, Ambassador Dr. Mahmoud Karem reviewed the most prominent axes on which the council works and proposals work on Which was prepared by the Council to amend its establishment law No. 94 of the year ۲۰۰۳ and amended by law ۱۹۷ for the year ۲۰۱۷, in a way that enhances its consistency with the principles of Paris and supports its independence and effectiveness in performing its powers, which the National Council initiated to send to both the House of Representatives and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. From the Prime Minister, meetings were held with the Council of Ministers Advisors, during which the proposed amendments were reviewed and studied, in a framework of coordination aimed at developing the active organized legislative framework for the work of the Council in this field, which hopes to take place as soon as possible.
