The Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, emphasized that empowering young people is a strategic investment to achieve the sustainable development goals and enhance the leadership of the global state in all fields, which represents the essence of the development process in the Emirates.

She pointed out that the slogan of the International Youth Day for this year “local youth work to achieve the goals of sustainable development and beyond”, is consistent with the firm belief of the UAE that achieving the major global goals starts from local work, and that young people are the most able partners to lead this transformation.

She said: “The vision of our wise leadership, since the era of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, looks at the Emirati youth not only as leaders of the future, but as active partners in making our present and our future, as the state spares no effort to arm young people with knowledge and knowledge, and provide all possibilities that refine their skills and motivate them to innovate, because we realize that we realize Their energies and their unconventional ideas are the main driver to build a varied, sustainable and knowledgeable economy. ”

She explained that the ministry translates this vision into practical programs, aiming to prepare a new generation of national competencies capable of leading the sustainability process.
