Korea technology exports increased by 14.5 % during July
Seoul on August 13/ WAM/ The exports of the Republic of Korea from information and communication technology products increased by 14.5 % from the previous year last July, thanks to the standard performance of the chips.
The Korean “Yonhap” news agency reported that the value of the shipments of information and communications technology products abroad amounted to $ 22.19 billion last month, compared to $ 19.38 billion in the previous year, while this represents the highest export volume in July months, according to the data gathered by the Ministry of Science, Information Technology and Communications.
Imports increased by 9.8% on an annual basis to reach 13.32 billion dollars, which led to a trade surplus of $ 8.87 billion in this sector.
The ministry attributed the sharp increase in exports to the standard shipments of semiconductors, which increased by 31.2% on an annual basis to reach 14.72 billion dollars due to the high prices of memory chips; Amid the increasing investments of international companies in artificial intelligence servers.
