Belgium exceeds the goal of the European Union to store gas before the winter

Brussels, August 17/ WAM/ Belgium said it exceeded the goal set by the European Union to fill the gas reserves before the winter, as the storage level reached 92.1% while the European ceiling is 90%, according to the data of the European Gas Stock Exploration (AGSI).
According to the Belgian News Agency, “FLUXYS”, the Fluxys operator was able to store 7,745 liters/hour of natural gas in the “Lunhout” facility for underground storage.
While Belgium scored a comfortable level of filling, other European countries, such as Germany, are making efforts to reach the goal by November 1, while France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Austria are close to achieving it.
Portugal tops the storage capacity.
At the level of the European Union, the average fullness reached 72.3% (or about 820.48 Tira/hour), as part of efforts to be made since 2022 to enhance energy security, especially with the adoption of these stocks to cover up to 30% of the winter needs in Europe.
