"Emergencies and crises" In Abu Dhabi, it enhances community preparedness through a campaign "Our community is ready"
ABU DHABI, 14th March / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center continues to implement the second phase of the “Our Community is Ready” campaign in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, the Department of Community Development, the Family Development Foundation, the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, along with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group and the Tadweer Group, with the aim of enhancing community awareness and consolidating preventive behaviors among various segments of society.
The campaign focuses on raising the level of knowledge of the correct procedures for dealing with emergency situations and introducing the mechanisms of action when receiving warning messages, in addition to educating community members on how to deal in the event of possible falling fragments or debris, while emphasizing the importance of adhering to the instructions issued by the competent authorities in order to preserve public safety.
It also highlights the dangers of photographing accident sites or circulating inaccurate information during crises and the negative effects this may have on field response efforts, as well as the role of community awareness in limiting the spread of rumors and enhancing reliance on official sources for obtaining information.
The campaign is implemented through field awareness programs and multilingual guidance materials, including nine different languages, to ensure that awareness messages reach various segments of society at work sites and various gatherings.
The campaign also takes into account the principle of comprehensiveness and making information available to everyone by providing appropriate awareness content for people of determination, which enhances their ability to access instructions and instructions related to emergency situations and interact with them clearly and easily.
His Excellency Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, said: “Our Society is Ready” campaign comes within the framework of the vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi that aims to build a society that is aware and capable of dealing with various emergency situations efficiently and responsibly.
He explained that this phase of the campaign focuses on enhancing knowledge of the correct procedures for behavior when receiving warning messages or when accidents occur, in addition to consolidating safe behaviors in situations that may involve risks such as falling shrapnel, or the circulation of inaccurate information during crises.
He said: Raising the level of community awareness is a pivotal element in supporting the comprehensive preparedness system in the emirate, as responsible behavior and adherence to official instructions contribute to protecting lives and property and enhancing the efficiency of responding to emergency situations.
He pointed out that the effective partnership between the various parties represents a fundamental pillar in establishing a culture of prevention and enhancing societal capacity to deal consciously with various developments.
The campaign is part of the response paths implemented by the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in cooperation with its strategic partners and concerned authorities, with the aim of enhancing community awareness of the procedures that must be followed during emergency situations and establishing responsible behaviors when receiving alerts or the occurrence of accidents, in a way that supports the efficiency of the response and enhances the safety of society and the stability of daily life in the emirate.
