Abu Dhabi Police enhances family awareness of the dangers of drugs

The Community Police Department in the Criminal Security Sector at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, in cooperation and coordination with the Abu Dhabi Councils in the Office of Citizens and Community Affairs in the Presidential Office, organized a Ramadan awareness session entitled “Enhancing Family Cohesion to Reduce the Drug Scourge,” at Al Dana Council in the Al Falah area in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in the presence of a number of notables from the region, parents and children, as part of the Year of the Family 2026 initiatives.
The session was opened by the Director of Al-Falah Police Station in the Criminal Security Sector, Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al-Amiri, stressing the importance of awareness councils in enhancing community awareness and opening channels of direct dialogue between police authorities and community members, which contributes to raising the level of prevention and protection from emerging risks and challenges.
Al Ameri reviewed the most prominent aspects of Al Falah Police Station’s work, explaining that the center provides an integrated package of police and security services that meet the needs of customers, including receiving reports, criminal and traffic services, and customer happiness services, in addition to implementing community initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of life in the region.
He called on members of society to obtain information from official sources, and to avoid circulating rumors in light of the current circumstances, stressing the importance of committing not to photograph or publish except through approved channels.
He pointed out that police stations have a pivotal role in preventing crime through proactive work, field presence, enhancing communication with community members, spreading security awareness, and building effective partnerships with various agencies and institutions, which contributes to reducing negative behaviors and consolidating the concept of community security.
Major Dr. Hamad Saif Al Yahyai from the Anti-Narcotics Directorate in the Criminal Security Sector stressed that protecting families from these crimes begins with strengthening conscious family control, raising the level of digital culture among all family members, and monitoring children’s use of smart devices, in addition to educating them about the dangers of sharing personal data or interacting with strangers, and the importance of reporting any suspicious behavior.
He explained that enhancing community awareness requires intensifying educational programs, organizing councils and workshops, disseminating awareness messages through media and digital platforms, establishing a culture of early reporting of crimes, and raising the level of security awareness.
He stressed the importance of cooperation and integration between Abu Dhabi Police and families through continuous communication, exchange of information, and adherence to security guidelines, which contributes to reducing the spread of crimes and protecting community members.
