Israel calls for 60,000 reserve soldiers in preparation for the occupation of Gaza

The Israeli Minister of Defense approved a plan to control Gaza, and ordered the summons of 60,000 reserve soldiers to participate in the operation, according to the ministry on Wednesday.
The ministry told Agence France -Presse that Minister Yisrael Katz “approved the plan of the Israeli army’s attack on Gaza City”, which is the largest in the Palestinian sector.
Likewise, “Katz agreed to issue orders to summon the reserve soldiers to carry out the mission” and estimated at 60,000 soldiers.
The Israeli Defense Minister approved “humanitarian preparations to evacuate” the population from Gaza City.
In early August, Israel announced that it was preparing to control Gaza City and the nearby displaced camps, with a declared goal of defeating Hamas and liberating the hostages.
At the end of last week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the adoption of the new plan to control Gaza, after it was approved by the mini security government.
Netanyahu stressed that this decision is a decisive step towards subjecting Hamas and ending its armed presence, he said.
He then indicated that his government issued clear instructions for the army to “control the recent strongholds of Hamas, led by Gaza City,” noting that the ongoing military operation will end with the imposition of full Israeli security control over the Strip.
Netanyahu explained that the new civil rule model in Gaza will not include Hamas or the Palestinian Authority, stressing: “The conditions of Hamas in order to reach an agreement are the conditions for a surrender to us, and we will not accept it in any way.”
