Abu Dhabi, August 21/ WAM/ Emirates Nuclear Energy Company launched the reactors’ operators program for graduates, with the aim of developing the upcoming Emirati generation for the leaders of the nuclear energy sector, and continuing its commitment to investing in the new generation of Emirati expertise that will lead this sector in the country.

The reactors’ operators program for graduates for UAE students who have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering specialties such as electrical, mechanical, nuclear, etc., as the program provides a distinguished opportunity to acquire comprehensive scientific knowledge and basic practical and operational experiences, leading to rewarding job opportunities in the areas of operating and managing nuclear power plants.

The candidates will start their career with practical training as field operators at Baraka Nuclear Energy Stations, to acquire extensive knowledge of the stations operating systems.

Three years later, the operators of the reactors who have proven their excellence will move to training as reactors operating managers; It is a fundamental role that takes responsibility for the safe operation of the reactors as well as maintenance and testing stations systems.

His Excellency Mohamed Al Hammadi, Managing Director and CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, said that the reactors’ operators program for graduates is a strategic investment in Emirati competencies, as the company continues to develop these competencies in the clean energy sector by enabling the current generations of graduates; Thus, the operation of Baraka nuclear energy stations according to the highest local and international standards related to safety, security and efficiency.

He added that the role of nuclear energy is not limited to ensuring and sustaining energy security, as it has developed a completely new sector that provides rewarding jobs for a period of not less than 100 years, which contributes to ensuring job safety for Emirati competencies for decades to come.

The graduate reactors’ operators program is one of the most recent education and training initiatives launched by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company since its foundation, to ensure the development of qualified and specialized Emirati competencies, to ensure the safe operation of Baraka stations for more than 60 years.

The program is integrated with the company’s current graduate development program, which provides Emirati graduates from 18 to 36 months of organized education in the work environment, whether in technical jobs or basic support functions in Baraka, where admission criteria are compatible with both programs.

Since its establishment, more than a thousand Emirati have benefited from the collection of programs launched by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company, starting with scholarships, the training program for work, the graduate development program, the nuclear technology diploma, and the internal training program, where training facilities at Baraka stations, which are the latest in the world, have contributed to more than 70 Emirati competencies to license the Federal Authority for Nuclear Control ass as managers and operators Nuclear reactors, who make up the backbone of the operating teams in stations that number more than 190 of the reactors; This highlights the success of the UAE in developing Emirati experiences in the nuclear energy sector.
