Partnership between "DP and Reclore" and" Etosho" Japanese to enhance logistics services in Africa

YOCHOMA – Japan on August 21/ WAM/ Dubai Ports Group “DPDDRID” signed a memorandum of understanding with Itooso, one of the largest commercial companies in Japan, to expand the package of logistical services and infrastructure for supply chains and distribution capabilities in sub -Saharan Africa.
According to a press release issued today, the memorandum was signed during the Tokyo International Development Conference in Africa “Ticad9” held in Yokohama, Japan, by Beit Simon, CEO of logistical operations in the Dubai Ports World Group, and senior executives at Itooso.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties will explore the chances of promoting commercial linking and reaching markets in Africa, and supporting Japanese companies that seek to consolidate or enhance their presence on the continent.
Initial discussions focus on fleet and logistical services, improving supply chains, and distributing goods and food products.
“DBDDRDD” operates in more than 48 countries on the African continent through a wide network of ports, stations and logistical assets, from warehouses to trucks.
The group has invested more than $ 3 billion in infrastructure development, with plans to invest another $ 3 billion over the next five years.
Itooso is based on the Japanese capital, Tokyo, and has its own experience in the field of basic commodity, wholesale and consumer goods in Africa.
Its portfolio covers the sectors of textiles, machinery, energy, chemicals, food and public consumer goods, giving them a solid basis to support Japanese companies wishing to expand in Africa.
Bet Simon, CEO of Logistics Operations at the Dubai Ports Group “DPDDRID”, said that Africa represents one of the most dynamic growth fronts in world trade, and cooperation with Itooso reflects a common vision to achieve added value by combining its expertise in infrastructure, logistical services and Itooso commercial experiences to build deeper links between Africa and Japan.
For his part, Chinia Ishisoka, CEO of “Africa Block” at Itooso, expressed his hope that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening projects between the two parties, in addition to building bridges of communication between Japanese companies wishing to expand in African markets.
